CCG’s activated alumina is a mixture of amorphous and gamma Aluminum oxide prepared by low temperature dehydroxylation of Aluminum Hydroxide Al(OH)3. The filtration process is termed surface adsorption but relies on the exchange of a surface hydroxide for the contaminant. CCG's activated alumina is used for removal of fluorides, arsenic, humic acids.
For treatment of fluorides, arsenic, humic acid. The media can also be used as a stand-alone treatment process or upstream of other filtration processes and media such as reverse osmosis, activated carbon and resins. Arsenic and fluorides removal are extremely pH dependent applications, usually 5.5-6.
