CC-HS600 is a silicate compound impregnated with potassium permanganate (KMnO4). It is ideal for those applications where activated carbon is ineffective, such as in the adsorption and oxidization of polar or lower molecular weight compounds. It was created to oxidize gaseous pollutants such as: hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, formaldehyde, ethylene, mercaptans, and various aldehydes and alcohols. CC-HS600 contains a higher percentage of potassium permanganate than similar products, thus giving it a longer service life.
Effective for treatment in air dryers, scrubber tanks, compressor tanks, exhaust systems, computer rooms, general HVAC applications, and fresh fruit, vegetable and flower storage & transportation. CC-HS600 has a density of 60 pounds per cubic foot versus 50 pounds per cubic foot for activated alumina. When the media is placed in a scrubber/filter (or any fixed space) there are less open spaces or voids (approximately 20% less). Pollutant air is filtered more efficiently when void spaces are minimized. It also generates less dust than other products when agitated, making for easier and cleaner handling and use.
